The Water Resources Department handles the pumping, treatment, storage, and transfer of drinking water throughout the city! Along with the collection, treatment, and disposal of sanitary sewage.

"What Goes In, Must Be Treated!"

We work behind the scenes to ensure that wastewater and drinking water for the City of Ocala are properly taken care of. Water pipes are used to disperse drinking water, or as we like to call it, potable water. The Sewer pipes carry the water once it has been used, otherwise known as wastewater.

Think of it this way, what comes out of the faucet in your home is drinking water and what goes down your drains is wastewater.
