  • Updated Road Closure - Water Main Valve Replacement

    Tuesday, Oct. 17, the City of Ocala Water Resources Department began work to replace a water main valve. However, due to the age of the pipe, this project was not able to be completed and will resume Friday, Oct. 20.

  • Water Reclamation Facility #1 Decommission Process Continues

    Monday, Oct. 16, the City will begin the second phase of decommissioning, which consists of cleaning out the digesters at WRF #1 and is expected to be completed in early December 2017.

  • City of Ocala to Host a Tire Amnesty Day Saturday, Oct. 14

    The City of Ocala is providing residents with free tire disposal Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Disposal locations will be at the corner of NE 14th Street and NE Eighth Avenue and the Hampton Aquatic Fun Center located at 255 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

  • City of Ocala Reports a Spill of Public Access Reuse Water

    Tuesday, Sept. 26, the City of Ocala Water Resources Department experienced a spill of public access reuse water, which has since been contained. This spill occurred at the Ocala Golf Club located at 3110 E Silver Springs Blvd. and involved approximately 239,000 gallons of public access reuse water, which is used for irrigation purposes.

  • City of Ocala Mosquito Control Update

    Following Hurricane Irma, the City of Ocala is actively working to address mosquito control and areas of concern for residents. The City has deployed staff to immediately resume larviciding areas that are currently holding water due to effects from the hurricane. Along with Clarke Mosquito, the City is also spraying areas that have been investigated and determined to have a nuisance adult mosquito population.

  • 'Super Kids Save the World' Exhibit Opens Saturday, Sept. 23

    The Discovery Center’s newest exhibit, Super Kids Save the World, will open to the public Saturday, Sept. 23 and will be on display through Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Discovery Center located at 701 NE Sanchez Ave.

  • City of Ocala to Host Zumbathon Event to Benefit the United Way of Marion County

    The City of Ocala will host Ocala Zumbathon Friday, Sept. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ocala Downtown Market located at 310 SE Third St. All proceeds from this event will benefit the United Way of Marion County.

  • City of Ocala Hurricane Debris to Begin Monday, Sept. 18

    The City of Ocala and its FEMA-approved debris management contactor, Crowder-Gulf, will begin collecting hurricane debris Monday, Sept. 18 in all four quadrants of the City limits. This cleanup process is expected to last approximately 30 to 60 days.
